NICEIC Registered Electricians

NICEIC has been assessing the technical competence of electricians for over 50 years. The aim of the NICEIC is to protect everyone who uses electricity from unsafe electrical installations in their homes, places of work and elsewhere. To achieve this, they maintain a register of qualified, competent electricians.

They look at a representative sample of the contractor's work, their premises, documentation, equipment, and the competence of their key supervisory staff. Once contractors become registered with NICEIC, they are re-assessed on a regular basis to ensure high standards.

Registration with NICEIC is voluntary, but electrical contractors who are competent and conscientious about the service they offer customers would consider it a priority to register. Over 25,000 contractors are registered by NICEIC, covering the whole of the UK, including Northern Ireland. This means that you're sure to have a choice of competent contractors operating in your area

Safety and competence

Electricians registered by NICEIC are assessed on a regular basis to ensure that they are competent and capable of meeting the relevant technical and safety standards, codes of practice and rules of the Schemes they are registered to.

Compliance with building regulations

Contractors registered to NICEIC Building Regulations Schemes are authorised to self-certify their work without hindrance from Local Authority Building Control. This saves you both time and money when undertaking work that requires notification under the Building Regulations.

Platinum Promise

The Platinum Promise covers work undertaken by contractors registered by NICEIC. The Platinum Promise provides protection to any entity using a NICEIC registered contractor. In the event that a contractor undertakes work that is found not to comply with the required regulations or standards, the Platinum Promise will help to put this work right. In the first instance the original contractor will be instructed to undertake any remedial work. If this this not possible the Platinum Promise will pay for remedial work to be undertaken by an alternative contractor up to the value of £25,000 per installation. The Platinum Promise is valid for a period of six years from the date of completion of the original work.

Independent Complaints Procedure

NICEIC operates an independent complaints procedure governing the technical standards of installation of its registered contractors. If the work of a registered contractor is found to be below the accepted technical standard, NICEIC requires the contractor to correct the work.

NICEIC is concerned solely with the safety and technical standard of the work carried out by NICEIC registered contractors.

 

Niceic Electricians

Commercial Electricians

Our NICEIC approved commercial electricians are qualified to carry out maintenance, repair and installation works, for our commercial customers. All work is carried out in accordance with 17th edition IEE wiring regulations BS 7671:2008, and comply with Health & Safety regulations under the Electricity at Works Regulations 1989. Our bespoke service is designed to work around your business. Outside working hours if required, at very little extra cost.

Domestic Electricians

Our Niceic approved Domestic Electrician are Part P registered. The law requires an electrician registered with a government-approved scheme, such as the one operated by NICEIC is used to carry out most electrical work in the home. After completion of any work your NICEIC registered electrician will issue you with an electrical safety certificate and a Compliance Certificate to confirm it meets the requirements of the Building Regulations.
